Top 10 Picks : J. Crew New Arrivals

J. Crew is one of the best stores to buy fall staples from. They consistently carry the best lightweight blazers, sweaters, and shirts which makes the transition from summer easy (at least on your wardrobe!) Below are my top ten picks from the J. Crew new arrivals which easily can be worn from late summer through late fall.

1. The Lambswool Shirttail Sweater looks so comfortable. The portion that is blue knit is versatile, and the striped shirttail portion of the sweater makes it stand out! 25% off with code ALMOSTFALL

2. Sophie Plaid loafers bring a pop of color to a plain outfit, or match with a red, yellow, green, or of course navy blue top. 25% off with code ALMOSTFALL

3. Printed Silk Snood has the cutest little tassels, and I love the contrasting stripes.

4. Bulldog Trouser Socks are perfect under riding boots or tucked under pants. From far away its difficult to tell what exactly is on the socks, but up close you can see the bulldog's adorable expressions!

5. Colorblock Football Tee while I don't usually like pink and grey paired together, I love the two specific shades of each side by side. The tee looks so comfortable and lightweight, and you can even add a monogram!

6. Silk-Cutout Tee I normally don't ever wear shirts with cutouts, but I love how these cutouts fall along the neckline and sleeves.

7. Andie Cord one in every color please! The orange is so festive for fall, and the rest of the colors are such perfect washes. 25% off with code SALETIME

8. Regent Blazer with Beaded Collar while the beaded collar isn't my favorite, I love the houndstooth and classic fitted silhouette.

9. Happy Plugs Earbuds a much cuter version of the standard Apple headphones, microphone and remote included!

10. Printed Leather Pouch for some reason, all of the little bags I keep in my purse are navy blue which blends right in with the black lining. Hunting around for things (especially my wallet) can get pretty annoying but I think this purse is the perfect solution!

Back to school shopping has always been something I've looked forwards to practically since school ends during the spring. I always end up with way more than was on my list going into the store (much to my dad's dismay!) This year school seems to be starting so early, before Labor Day! On the first day of school, I may not be mentally prepared for all of the work ahead of me, but I know that I will have all of my gear! Below are some of the items at the top of my list this year.

1. Lilly Pulitzer agenda keeps me organized!

2. Erasable Highlighters are perfect for dense reading assignments

3. Moleskine Notebooks color coded / 1 per class

4. Sailboat Folders have the cutest design, and the rest of the online store is just as adorable!!

5. Dalmatian Stapler for the millions of packets/handouts/papers

6. Pencil Set your friends will want to borrow!

7. Backpack that is comfortable and stylish

 8. The perfect Pen

Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale

For my summer routine, I usually wake up around 9:30 or 10 and start my morning leisurely. This morning however, I set my alarm for 7:30 and rushed around getting prepped for the LILLY PULITZER AFTER PARTY SALE! The sale is amazing, all of the clothing goes for such a steal and for a Lilly lover the sale is a must. I was lucky enough to get in right at 8:02 (after Lilly had finished adding the items to the sale) and complete all of my purchases by 8:10. With the exception of one item, I checked out with everything on my wish list. I'm not too bummed about that one item because I know that some people couldn't even get onto the sight that early due to the high volume of customers! I will be checking back each day at 11 because Lilly adds has a flash sale on Facebook/Instagram. Below are some of my favorite picks from the sale, make sure that you get on soon because as I'm sure you know, everything sells out so quickly!

DRESSES (& a romper!)

#1 PICK : The Richelle Strapless Tie Back Dress. I love this particular print (She's A Fox) and also the silhouette. As an added bonus, the back has an adorable tie!

OTHER FAVORITES: Colleen Romper perfect as a beach coverup that you can wear around town
Richelle Strapless Sweatheart Dress very similar to the Tie Back, pink & white seersucker!!

#1 PICK : The Shandy Strapless Peplum Top. Peplum is one of my favorite style shirts to wear, and this is the perfect addition to my growing collection! The pink/green color combination is classic, and the print is one of the more simple ones which allows more wear in a particular piece.

OTHER FAVORITES : the Marielle Sweater (as long as you have an initial of A, B, C, D, J, K, L, M, or S), the Leona Zip Up Sweatshirt is good for early New England fall nights when it is too early to being wearing jackets, and the Maria Boatneck Sweater is a great summer/fall transition.

#1 PICK : The Tate Skirt. I almost never buy a dress or skirt unless it has pockets. The pockets on this skirt are too adorable and I love how instead of being tucked away they make a statement.

ALSO, the Cosette Bow Detail Skirt classic Lilly skirt with little bows on the sides, need I say more?

#1 PICK : The iPad Tech Case. The gold tassel is just too cute, as well as the print! This will be perfect for my tech accessories, and I'm hoping that it will also be able to function as a clutch!

OTHER FAVORITES : the Knock Out Leather Envelope is a great clutch, the iPhone Case is a steal at only $9, the Original Tote is perfect for toting around beach (or school!) supplies, + it matches the Photodome Bangle

What To Wear In ... San Francisco!

I recently visited San Francisco, and over the course of my visit I fell in love with the city! There are so many amazing sights to see and the city itself is gorgeous. I loved how all of the hotels and skyscrapers were built onto extreme hills. Unfortunately, the flip side of this was that walking around was pretty tiring. Even though I did research prior to packing, I wasn't prepared for how cold the weather was! It was in the low sixties for most of my stay, and I had packed expecting for it to be low seventies the majority of the time. The good thing is that I've now visited the city and won't make that mistake again! It can be difficult to travel to coldish places during the summertime, because it's difficult to pull off a summery look and yet still be comfortable temperature wise. Below are outfits that are suited to weather in the Foggy City!

look 2 :  Lilly Pulitzer top // toothpick jeans [on sale!!] // boat shoes // leather tote

PS. A few words to the wise.... bring lots of layers! Even though you might leave the hotel when it is sunny, two hours later the entire city could be under a blanket of fog! Also, bring shoes that you have broken in and feel confident that you can walk miles of hills with.

Giambattista Valli

Going through my Pinterest feed today, I found this gorgeous photo of Blake Lively. After doing a little research, I discovered that she was wearing a Giambattista Valli dress. I poked around on their website and discovered their clothes are absolutely gorgeous. Their florals are amazing, and the flounces found in many of their pieces are just too cute! All of their pieces are so high end that it is more than likely that I will only be window shopping the site :-). Below I've included some of my favorite pieces.

1. I love the floral on this skirt, I also love the fact that it matches this silk jacket with peplum (both 60% off!!)

2. A beautiful evening coat in the same print as the silk jacket in a red color. (also 60% off)

3. A white coat with lots and lots of flounces! A perfect example of high/low style in an elegant piece. (60% off).

4. I love peplum, and this peplum jacket is too cute, especially with the black lining and little buttons on the front.

5. My favorite piece from the collection which goes with the blue floral skirt. The flounce is perfect and the neckline is very elegant.

6. This white minidress is perfect for a summer day, it reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer! (45% off!)

7. This dress is such a pretty pink. I normally don't like edgy clothing but this pulls off edgy and classic at the same time!

J. Crew Mixed Media Sweater

J. Crew is definitely my go-to store for classic sweaters. Browsing the site the other day, I came upon the Mixed Media sweater. The light grey front is the perfect contrast to the blue & white checkers on the back. I've put together a few looks that this sweater would go nicely with.
